David Sumner - Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

David is a long-term investor with over 20 years of experience in developing successful global business platforms with a particular emphasis on healthcare. 

His career started in the pharmaceutical industry at Shire Pharmaceuticals. He has since served on numerous private and public company boards in both an executive and non-executive capacity. 

David founded The Sumner Foundation, a charity set up to benefit disadvantaged students in the UK and also more recently refugees and displaced persons around the world. 

Dato’ Husni Salleh - Chief Governance Officer 

Husni has 30 years of experience in corporate finance, investment, venture capital/private equity, entrepreneurship, business strategy and operations, and public policy.

He had been appointed as CEO of four companies in Malaysia in the last 15 years of his career and assisted more than 15 Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) of companies in Malaysia. He also raised 8 venture capital and private equity funds, and 2 endowment funds in Malaysia (education & social development) and he had led venture capital investments in more than 60 companies in Malaysia, China, and other Asean countries.  

Husni received the 'Global Leadership Award for Leadership Excellence in Community Transformation' from American Leadership Development Association in 2017 and 'The Jewels of the Muslim World Award for Top Movers and Shakers of the Islamic Economies' from (Organisation of Islamic Countries) OIC Today in 2019.

Husni graduated with B.Sc. Business Administration (Finance) from West Virginia University, USA in 1990.

Mike Ford - Chief Operating Officer


Mike Ford joined the Sumner Group in 2019 with substantial leadership experience in pharmaceutical company risk management & logistics and a strong track record of building successful teams and partnerships.

In 2013 he joined GlaxoSmithKline as Security Director. From a base in Kuala Lumpur he led a team of regional Heads of Security and a 100+ community of local Security Champions to guide smart, security risk decisions. Mike was the Information Protection lead for the Corporate Security organisation; managed a wide range of site security and regulatory assurance programmes; conducted brand protection and misconduct investigations; delivered bespoke crisis management training to senior leaders; and provided expert guidance on the delivery of security strategy for large events, business travel and building projects.

Mike served as a British Police officer for 30 years, working as a senior detective for the National Criminal Intelligence Service, the National Crime Squad and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. He set up a police Computer Crime Department in 1998 and was a founding member of the UK’s flagship National Hi-Tech Crime Unit.


Following a five-year tenure based in China where he was the UK lead for cooperation on serious crime investigations, Mike returned to the UK and took up the position of law enforcement cyber security advisor to the UK Government.

Monique Lynch - Chief Financial Officer

Joining Sumner Group Health in June 2020, Ms Lynch has over 10 years’ international experience in various finance roles in New Zealand, UK & UAE, across a diverse portfolio of industries. 

She has previous experience in the healthcare sector, through senior management positions held in both professional practice and private equity backed companies, including PricewaterhouseCoopers New Zealand. 

Coming from a strong academic background that includes Bachelor degrees of Commerce, Arts & Design and a Chartered Accountant qualification. 

She is experienced in leading culturally diverse and cross-border teams to drive business performance in fast-paced rapidly changing environments.

Lee Keen Whye - Non-Executive Director

Mr. Lee was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to Yujin in 2004. He is the Managing Director of Strategic Alliance Capital Pte Ltd, a venture capital and investment management advisory company. Mr. Lee has more than 30 years' experience in investment and fund management having started as an Investment Manager with the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation in 1982. In 1990 he founded Rothschild Ventures Asia Pte Ltd the venture capital operation of the N M Rothschild & Sons global merchant banking group in Asia and was its managing director until he left in 1997. He is on the board of several companies including Santak Holdings Ltd, Ntegrator International Ltd and Vard Holdings Limited which are listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Mr. Lee has a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Singapore.

Jon Sumner - Non-Executive Director

Jon brings over 15 years of international experience in financial reporting, forecasting, audit, tax, and M&A project management. During his career to date Jon has held CFO positions with private and publicly listed companies in the UK, Europe, and Asia, where he has a track record of developing businesses and executing capital market transactions including public listings, privatizations, group restructuring and raising capital through debt and equity fundraising. 

Jon has been working for companies within the Sumner Group for 10 years and he remains a key member of the company's executive management team that is leading the development of the business.  Prior to this Jon received a BSc Honours degree in Mathematics from The University of Bristol before qualifying with and holding senior positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. 

Debra Sumner - Non-Executive Director

Debra brings more than 20 years' experience in business development and procurement for commercial, government, and public sectors in health care and other industry types (e.g., education, engineering, science-based products), with a specific interest in US markets. She has been instrumental in procuring multi-million and multi-billion-dollar awards. Debra's expertise lies in developing procurement applications and frameworks, and documentation systems that facilitate operations' growth and sustainability. Other experience includes capture and information management, communications, documentation technology analyses, and proposal development. Most recent professional positions were held with UnitedHealth Group, a top ten Fortune 500 company. 


Debra studied Rhetoric and Professional Communication, to include technical communications, and she holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in English. She has held adjunct faculty positions, teaching reading, writing, research, and business communications to traditional and non-traditional student groups--allowing her to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
